WebJan 27, 2024 · Kiln is a baselayer for me but you could use it over something lighter. Klamath is a lite grid fleece that goes well over the kiln or lighter base. There's definitely warmer or heavier midlayers out there than the Klamath but it's good for active hunting or as an outer layer in mild conditions. I like the Peloton better as a midlayer. WebI've been using all of first lites coats and jackets for years now and I have to say, none have given me so much comfort and enjoyment as this piece. Breathes well, fits great, has a fantastic hood, comfortable around the arms and chest and is equally warm and cool enough to wear as an outer or inner layer in all different temperatures. WebThe hoody is great to use when going thru heavy brush and keeps the ticks and spiders from falling (or attempting) to get in the back of your shirt. The only negative I have is the product itchiness / scratchy at first. I usually wash as directed twice before wearing it. Seems to soften it up and not as uncomfortable next to skin.
